Rotary hose, Kelly hose, vibrator hose
High-pressure flexible drilling hoses connect parts of a drilling-fluid circulation system that move or vibrate in service. Customers may ask for rotary hose, drilling hose, Kelly hose, standpipe hose, swivel hose, vibrator hose or mud pump discharge hose. These names can describe related but different positions in the system—routing and duty matter.
Common requests
- Rotary / Kelly hose: flexible connection associated with the standpipe, swivel or top-drive drilling-fluid circuit.
- Vibrator hose: flexible high-pressure connection intended for the vibration and movement near a mud pump or discharge piping.
- Grade D and Grade E: industry hose designations commonly associated with different pressure classes. Confirm the actual assembly marking and standard, not the grade name alone.
- Other descriptions: slim-hole hose, cementing hose, jumper hose, mud hose, flexible drilling line and high-pressure rubber hose.
Request details such as nominal I.D., overall or specified length, working pressure, temperature, fluid, connection type, minimum bend radius, restraint needs and applicable standards.
Rotary & vibrator hose specifications → Kelly hose details →Choke & kill hose, BOP hose, flowline
Choke and kill hoses are flexible lines used in specified well-control and high-pressure applications. Buyers may describe them as choke line, kill line, flexible choke hose, Coflexip-style hose, Coflex-style hose, 5K hose, 10K hose or 15K hose. Those trade and industry terms are not substitutes for checking the actual rated assembly.
BOP control hoses serve blowout-preventer control equipment and hydraulic circuits. Depending on the system, inquiries may specify API 16D, fire-resistant covers, armored hose, control-line hose, hydraulic pilot hose or Koomey-style BOP control lines. Requirements depend on the equipment and governing specification.
For either product, verify working pressure, test requirements, bore, length, fluid, temperature, fitting and end connection configuration, fire resistance where required, and certification.
Choke & kill hose → BOP control hose →Hydraulic, air, water, chemical & suction hose
Not every hose on a rig is a large drilling assembly. World Rig Supply also handles requests for smaller-bore and industrial hose types: hydraulic hose, wire-braided hose, rubber-covered hose, suction and discharge hose (S&D or OS&D), air hose, water hose, fuel hose, oil hose, chemical hose, stainless steel braided hose, corrugated metal hose and high-pressure flex hose.
Describe the fluid being moved—including concentration and compatibility where relevant—plus whether the line will see pressure, vacuum, movement, pulsation, abrasion, heat, or outdoor exposure. Hydraulic SAE designations and manufacturer construction details must be matched to the application.
- Suction and discharge: hose must be suitable for the required vacuum and pressure conditions.
- Stainless steel / metal hose: flexibility, temperature, corrosion environment and fatigue life are important.
- Fuel / oil / petroleum transfer: verify media, electrical bonding needs, applicable service conditions and end connections.
- Instrument fluid: inquiries such as W-15 red weight-indicator fluid require the specific equipment and fluid compatibility to be confirmed.
Fittings, hammer unions, flanges & valves
A correctly specified hose is only as useful as its connections. Customers routinely request crimp fittings, hose inserts, male and female threads, NPT, JIC, BSP, API flanges, hammer unions, union subs, wing nuts, swivel joints, Chiksan-style swivels, camlock couplings, adapters, crosses, tees, elbows, reducers, check valves, gate valves and high-pressure flowline equipment.
Figure 1502 is a frequently requested hammer-union style in high-pressure oilfield service. Union figure numbers, nominal sizes, end preparations, pressure ratings and service compatibility must all be independently matched; parts are not automatically interchangeable.
Useful specifications include thread form, nominal size, male/female orientation, end-to-end configuration, material, pressure class, required seals and whether the service is standard or sour-gas related.

In oilfield purchasing, a single pressure number rarely tells the whole story. The working pressure (WP) is not the same as a hydrostatic test pressure or a burst rating. The completed assembly—including hose, end fittings and any adapters—must be suited to the service.
| Term | What a purchaser needs to confirm |
|---|---|
| 5,000 / 7,500 / 10,000 / 15,000 PSI | Which pressure is specified: operating/working, test or another rating? Check hose and connections as an assembly. |
| I.D. / O.D. | Inside diameter and outside diameter. These are different measurements. |
| OAL | Overall length; confirm how the manufacturer measures between end connections. |
| Minimum bend radius | Smallest permitted bend for the selected hose under specified conditions. |
| Grade D / Grade E | Hose grade nomenclature; verify the relevant standard and actual rated assembly. |
| API 7K / API 16C / API 16D | Standards commonly referenced in drilling and well-control inquiries; applicability depends on the equipment, product and specification. |
| H₂S / sour service | Materials and connections may require additional qualification; never assume standard-service parts are suitable. |
Oilfield supply, OEM spares & drilling equipment
When buyers say oilfield supply they may mean far more than hoses. Product inquiries include drilling line and wire rope, lifting subs, saver subs, REG / IF crossover subs, ring gaskets, mud pump liners, mud pump expendables, OEM replacement parts, flow meters, rig mats, packer elements, service loops, auxiliary cables, lifting chains, safety clamps, hose restraints, rig hardware, machinery spares and hard-to-find equipment.
Old-school sourcing starts with the information available: a part number, OEM reference, drawing, photograph, required dimensions, equipment manufacturer or operating specification. Our team can review requests and discuss availability; listings are not a representation of guaranteed stock.
Oilfield supplies & stock list → Drilling line →Hose testing, certificates & export
Depending on the product and order, customers may request a hydrostatic test certificate, certificate of conformity / compliance (COC), material test report (MTR), certificate of origin, traceability documents, product identification, inspection records or export packaging documentation. These documents should be discussed before the order is placed, because their availability depends on the specific item and supply chain.
World Rig Supply serves domestic and international inquiries from Houston. Common shipping language includes hot shot delivery, freight forwarder, export crating, port-to-port, port-to-door, rig location delivery and warehouse pickup. Shipping arrangements depend on quotation and destination.
